Trouble with Tray Importer

Recommended Posts

I just downloaded the tray importer, once I loaded it I found that none of my content had been loaded in. I tried to change the file location that it should be looking in, but that did  not work: the file didn't even appear. Any help will be appreciated. sti1.thumb.jpg.ce8791d21010af3f0114f7c823544583.jpg

Hello @Simsculture,

Game\Bin should not be part of the path, so removing it should fix the problem. 😉

You can also let S4TI find the game by clicking on Find.

Thanks for the rely, I tried to set the path how you said I should and that removed the exclamation, but my CC still di not appear. Using auto detect for me doesn't work because it looks in the wrong game folder. TO the left on the second picture I have my file destination pen so that you may see.

AutoDetect only works with what is written in the Registry else it fallback to the default location.

Repairing the game from Origin is the recommended way to fix it, else you must open the Registry Editor and navigate to HKLM\Software\Maxis\The Sims 4 or/and HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node\Maxis\The Sims 4 to fix the broken path.

It's always a good idea to restart S4TI after changing the game path, this will trigger the IsInstalled flag and allow it to load your Library. 😉

I've tried eveything on the forum and i'm still having the same problem. (I don't have origin but it was working perfectly for me before the update)

I've tried changing the locations of the files but nothing seems to be working.

My files are  C:\Program Files (x86)\The Sims 4 and C:\\Users\\HP-\\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4

Hi @lightweightstar,

Looks like the XML is broken !!

Right-click on the S4TI shortcut, select Open file location.

In S4TI folder you will find 's4ti - reset.bat' or 's4ti_x64 - reset.bat', double-click on one of them to reset all your settings.

Hello @lightweightstar,

Does 'Sims4.GameInfos.Settings.xml' still show more than one entry?

If you don't know where the game is installed, use the Find button to locate the game.

Uncheck Auto Detect, then click on Find.

I tried doing that before and it finds the correct location of the game but still nothing shows up.

This is the current situation:

Thanks @lightweightstar,
Looks like the XML bug is also affecting the current version, I will take a look. 😕

Meanwhile try this:

  • Download this file s4ti_regfix.reg
I already set the 'Install Dir' to the one shown in your log.
If you need to change it, right-click on the file then select Edit, then change the values of 'Install Dir' and 'Locale' as needed.
*Don't forget to use '\\' instead of '\' else the path will not be imported correctly.
  • Double-click on the file to import the settings.
  • Back in S4TI, if nothing works, make sure Auto Detect is checked.

Hi, I currently have this same problem, except mine also refuses to save because a file is apparently open.

I downloaded and used the file given here, the application then restarted as if it had saved and was going to work. However when I start the application, the red box is there again.

I am now able to use the "find" tool to find the proper directory and get rid of the red box, but when I go to save it I get this:

image.png.762b83d9f2dd2df06fca95918729658c.png

Then when I hit Yes, it gives me this.

image.png.abf3c7c4513a3195512e74e56ee351e2.png

Please help.

If you need the debug info as above please tell me how to find it.
